About Respiratory Friends Centre

Connecting Every Health Thread Back to Your Lungs

Respiratory Friends Centre was born from a simple observation: when someone you love struggles to breathe, every part of their life unravels. We exist to connect those dots, helping patients understand that lung health is never just about the lungs.

Our Story

Our founding team watched family members navigate chronic respiratory illness. We saw COPD gradually lead to anxiety and depression. We watched repeated antibiotics for bronchitis cause severe gut problems. In each case, the connection back to lung health was never explained. Patients were shuttled between specialists with no one showing the whole picture.

Respiratory Friends Centre was created to be that connecting thread. Every piece of content we publish serves one purpose: to support the complete health journey of people living with respiratory conditions.

Our founding truth: No organ system operates in isolation. When lungs are compromised, the ripple effects touch the gut, brain, heart, immune system, and mental health. Understanding these connections empowers patients to live fuller lives.

Our Mission

Our mission is to connect every secondary health condition back to lung health. When we write about gut health, we explain how antibiotics for respiratory infections damage the microbiome. When we cover brain fog, we teach readers about reduced oxygen delivery to the brain. We trace symptoms back to their respiratory roots.

Our Approach

We start with the symptom that brought you here — bloating, fatigue, anxiety, poor sleep, or recurring infections — and we trace it back to its respiratory connections. Traditional sites organize by disease name. We organize by patient experience.

The Gut-Lung Connection

Multiple rounds of antibiotics for pneumonia save lives but decimate the gut microbiome. Months later, patients develop IBS-like symptoms and never make the connection. We bridge that gap.

The Brain-Lung Connection

Untreated respiratory disease causes reduced oxygen delivery to the brain, leading to memory problems and difficulty concentrating. Treating the lungs often resolves the brain fog.

The Heart-Lung Link

Chronic low oxygen forces the heart to work harder. We help patients recognize early warning signs and understand why cardiac monitoring is essential.
